Stores Keeper
Location: High Wycombe
Employment Type: Full-Time
About the Role
We're looking for an experienced Stores Keeper to join a dynamic manufacturing environment. This is a varied and hands-on role where you'll play a key part in supporting the Logistics & Warehouse Manager and ensuring smooth operations across the factory.
You'll be responsible for managing Goods In, Forklift operations, and Banksman duties, while maintaining accurate stock control of raw materials, WIP, and finished goods. This role also involves supporting production teams and occasionally operating machinery, so flexibility and a proactive mindset are essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and organise stores for raw materials, WIP, finished goods, press tools, and recycled materials.
- Support the Logistics & Warehouse Manager and provide cover when required.
- Assist production teams with material preparation and finishing processes (e.g., slitting, shaping, CNC routing, assembly).
- Operate forklifts and act as Banksman for safe material movement.
- Ensure compliance with Health & Safety regulations and promote best practices (including 5S and waste reduction).
- Liaise with other departments to ensure OTIF (On-Time Delivery in Full) and uphold quality standards.
- Record accurate data for stock management and machine performance.
- Deputise for the Logistics & Warehouse Manager when necessary.
What We're Looking For
- Previous experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to read technical drawings and understand production processes.
- Good communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
- Knowledge of Health & Safety practices and modern production tools (5S, OEE, root cause analysis).
- Computer literacy (MS Office and ability to learn internal systems).
- Valid UK Driver's Licence and Forklift certification (desirable).
Desirable Skills
- Experience with CNC machines, bandsaws, and slitting equipment.
- Supervisory or team leader experience in a busy production setting.
- Understanding of foam types and converting processes.
