On-Train Ticket Examiner

📍 Location: Glasgow Central

💰 Salary: £14,171 per year (on completion of training)

📚 Training: 7-day commercial training + 2-day induction

📄 Contract: Permanent | Part-time (15 hours per week)

Shifts: Various, including weekends

Earliest start: 05:40 | Latest finish: 22:00

What You'll Do

  • Be the face of the organisation for passengers-creating a safe, welcoming experience.
  • Check and issue tickets, handle cash and card transactions accurately.
  • Patrol trains, manage busy conditions, and assist with customer queries.
  • Support passengers with disabilities, including using a portable ramp (up to 15kg) when required.

What We're Looking For

  • A people person who thrives on delivering exceptional customer service.
  • Confidence to handle challenges and resolve conflicts positively.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently.
  • Cash handling and customer-facing experience is desirable-but full training provided.
