Salary: £18.26 per hourLocation: Tyne and Wear, NE1Hours: Monday - Friday 9am - 5pmTill 31 Mar 2026 (will possibility of extension)This role requires as a minimum one day in the office which is on a Monday. The successful applicant can work from home for the remainder of their time, other than when visiting premises.To advise the Council on the most appropriate and cost effective standards of fire safety in its premises and work operations in accordance with the relevant statutory requirements and codes of practice and carry out fire risk assessments. Main Duties1. To carry out fire risk assessments, fire safety inspections and DSEARassessments of Council premises, sites and work operations as required.2. To provide advice and guidance to directorates regarding fire safety to assist inidentifying and mitigating risk.3. To carry out investigations of any fire safety related incidents as required.4. To prepare, assessments, CAD fire safety plans and reports.5. To support the development and monitoring of corporate policy and strategiesin relation to the Council's internal fire safety standards and codes of practice.6. To assist in designing, procuring and delivering appropriate fire safety training. Fire Safety Officer

Premises Manager needed!Salary: £21.65 per hourLocation: Port Of Sunderland, SR1Hours: Monday - Friday 8am - 4pm - 37 hours a weekTill March 2026Role - Arrange for required works in relation to general premises maintenance (i.e. door and roofing repairs).Undertake and record accurately weekly and monthly checks on fire alarms, emergency lighting, fire exits, office torches and also the testing of fire extinguishers etc.Organisation and co-ordination of emergency planning activity (such as fire drills) and liaising with Council colleagues in relation to business continuity where appropriate.Liaise with Council colleagues in relation to the management of asbestos and legionella in Port premises and the maintenance of associated logbooks and registers.Maintain and update all relevant assessments and records to ensure compliance.
