<h1>Maintenance Support Technician</h1>Locations: Luton &amp; Watford (multi‑site role) Reports to: HR ManagerA well‑established care provider is seeking a proactive Maintenance Support Technician to ensure its properties across Luton and Watford remain safe, well‑maintained and welcoming. This is a hands‑on, varied role ideal for someone who enjoys practical work, problem‑solving and taking ownership of day‑to‑day maintenance tasks.<h2>Key Responsibilities</h2><h3>General Maintenance</h3><ul><li>General repairs including basic carpentry, plumbing and decorating</li><li>Routine equipment and H&amp;S checks, maintaining the Maintenance Handbook</li><li>Minor repairs to fixtures and fittings</li><li>Carpet shampooing as directed</li><li>Proactive improvement suggestions to enhance buildings and grounds</li><li>Driving the minibus when required</li><li>Internal/external window cleaning within H&amp;S guidelines</li><li>Monitoring the Medicare system</li><li>Monthly Health &amp; Safety audits</li></ul><h3>Outdoor &amp; Grounds Care</h3><ul><li>Grounds maintenance: mowing, aeration, weeding, pruning, flower beds</li><li>Seasonal clearing of leaves, snow, ice and moss</li><li>Routine maintenance of grass‑cutting machinery</li><li>Keeping external areas clean and tidy to a high standard</li><li>Regular litter bin emptying</li><li>Drain and gully clearing</li></ul><h3>Deliveries &amp; Logistics</h3><ul><li>Receiving deliveries of post, materials and supplies</li><li>Distributing goods across sites with accurate record‑keeping</li></ul><h3>Painting, Decorating &amp; Room Preparation</h3><ul><li>Safe movement of furniture/equipment in line with manual handling regulations</li><li>Preparing and decorating rooms, lounges and corridors</li><li>Cleaning spillages promptly and safely</li></ul><h2>Person Specification</h2><h3>Essential</h3><ul><li>Experience in basic building repairs and grounds maintenance</li><li>Strong ability to prioritise tasks</li><li>Working knowledge of Health &amp; Safety legislation</li><li>Willingness to undertake training and apply relevant regulations</li><li>Ability to operate mechanical/electrical systems</li><li>Clear, effective communication skills</li><li>Physically capable of regular lifting and carrying</li><li>Able to work independently across multiple sites</li><li>Full UK driving licence</li></ul><h3>Desirable</h3><ul><li>City &amp; Guilds qualification</li><li>Time‑served apprenticeship</li><li>H&amp;S Level 2 or 3 certificate</li><li>NVQ in construction</li><li>Current First Aid certificate</li></ul> Blue Arrow is proud to be a Disability Confident Employer and is committed to helping find great work opportunities for great people.
