Housing Officer required!Salary: £15.06 per hourLocation: Exeter, EX1Hours: Monday - Friday 9am - 5pmTill End Feb 2026 PURPOSE OF JOBTo provide comprehensive housing advice and assistance, face to face, by telephone and by email regarding a wide range of housing issues having an in-depth knowledge of relevant housing and homeless legislation including Case Law, to ensure that the Council's statutory duties are carried out under the Homelessness Reduction Act 2018MAIN DUTIES AND ACTIVITIES1. To be the first point of contact (face to face, by telephone or by email) for customers who are homeless or threatened with homelessness and to carry out an initial assessment and investigation.2. Liaising with a variety of outside partner agencies, such as rough sleepers outreach services, and hostel providers to look for creative housing solutions for clients with a variety of complex needs3. To hold a caseload of clients, deciding Homelessness Reduction Act duties and making pro-active interventions to provide wide-ranging person centred housing advice and advocacy on housing rights, income maximisation, financial management, relevant support services and to inform, support and signpost customers to specialist advice agencies when appropriate.4. To pro-actively take actions to prevent homelessness either short term or long term using all means available. This also includes immediate interventions to prevent homelessness including where possible and reasonable helping customers to retain or re-access their current accommodation by; liaising with families and friends, landlords, supported housing, solicitors, courts, social services and other agencies.5. Digital and Data Development Officer needed!!Salary: £20.66 to £22.85 per hourLocation: TQ12, Newton AbbotHours: Monday - Friday 9am - 5pm - 37 hours a weekTill July 2026Purpose of the Role To support the delivery of the council's strategies and vision by: * Enabling the visualisation of data, ensuring that data is presented in a clear, concise, and visually appealing manner using tools such as Power BI. * Leading the development and implementation of innovative low-code solutions to streamline processes and improve efficiency across the organisation including development of the authorities CRM platform (Firmstep), M365 Power apps and Power Automate. * Leveraging digital tools and platforms to facilitate seamless data integration and process automation to create efficient, user-friendly solutions that address the needs of various stakeholders within the organisation.Key Duties and Responsibilities * Developing the corporate performance management framework in line with best practice and national and local governance requirements. * Digital Transformation - collaborating with the Council IT provider (Strata), SLT and Service Managers to drive innovation and support in digital transformation through* System Administration - managing system user access (relating to tools you control) in line with data security and governance policies. * User Support - Training and supporting end-users on developed tools, applications, and platforms. Serving as the point of contact for technical troubleshooting and maintenance liaising with Strata and services as required. * Working with colleagues across the organisation (and external) to improve data quality. * Assist with the communication of data to the public including leading on any open data initiatives that may be developed * Act as point of contact between strata and SLT/service managers, challenging either side on business requirements if needed. Regularly meet and work developers to ensure the ongoing business requirements of each service are being met.Qualifications Either a relevant degree(probably STEM related) or A-levels or Level 4 data analyst.Experience Proven expertise in using Microsoft Power BI for data visualization and reporting. Experience of working in a similar post which includes carrying out research to capture user needs, analysis and presentation of information and/or development of low-code solutions.
