Machine Operator

Blue Arrow are recruiting for Machine Operators / Production Operatives for our client based in Oldham who specialise in the manufacturing of bedding products.

📌 Position Overview

The Machine Operator will be responsible for operating, monitoring, and maintaining production machinery used in the manufacturing of bedding products (e.g., mattresses, pillows, duvets). The role ensures efficient production, adherence to quality standards, and compliance with health and safety regulations.

🛠️ Key Responsibilities

* Operate and monitor bedding production machinery (e.g., quilting machines, sewing machines, filling equipment).

* Adjust machine settings to meet product specifications.

* Perform routine checks and preventive maintenance to minimize downtime.

* Inspect finished products for quality assurance and report defects.

* Maintain accurate production records and logs.

* Follow company safety protocols and maintain a clean work environment.

* Collaborate with supervisors and team members to meet production targets.

* Assist in troubleshooting mechanical issues and escalate when necessary.

🎓 Qualifications & Skills

* Previous experience as a machine operator in textiles, bedding, or manufacturing preferred.

* Basic mechanical aptitude and ability to perform minor repairs.

* Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.

* Ability to read and interpret technical instructions and production schedules.

* Good communication and teamwork skills.

* Physical stamina to handle repetitive tasks and stand for long periods.

* Knowledge of health and safety standards in a manufacturing environment.

🕒 Working Conditions

* Monday - Thursday 2pm-11pm Friday 1pm-4pm

* Factory/warehouse environment with exposure to noise and textile materials.

* Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.

💷 Salary & Benefits

* £12.21 per hour
