<h4>The Role</h4>We are seeking an experienced Deputy Head of Catering to join our team at a reputable Contract Catering Site. Working alongside another Deputy Head of Catering, you will support the Head of Catering in delivering a professional, high-quality catering service. You will play a key role in maintaining standards, ensuring compliance, and meeting agreed objectives for the location.Position: Deputy Head of CateringReports to: Head of CateringResponsible for: Shift Supervisors, Hospitality Assistants<hr /><h3>Key Responsibilities</h3><h4>Health &amp; Safety Management</h4><ul><li>Ensure all Health &amp; Safety and food safety procedures are understood and followed by the team.</li><li>Maintain accurate records and compliance with statutory regulations, including COSHH and allergen management.</li><li>Conduct risk assessments and monitor hygiene standards.</li><li>Report accidents and near misses promptly and maintain equipment in good working order.</li></ul><h4>Team Leadership</h4><ul><li>Support the Head of Catering in managing day-to-day operations and staff performance.</li><li>Delegate tasks effectively and ensure shift coverage.</li><li>Lead and motivate the front-of-house team to deliver exceptional service.</li><li>Oversee staff training, inductions, and appraisals, ensuring compliance with safer recruitment practices.</li></ul><h4>Service Delivery</h4><ul><li>Ensure high standards of food presentation and service at all times.</li><li>Manage hospitality bookings and oversee functions to agreed standards.</li><li>Monitor customer feedback and implement improvements where necessary.</li><li>Maintain strict adherence to allergen and dietary requirements.</li></ul><h4>Financial Management</h4><ul><li>Assist with payroll, budgeting, and cost control in line with financial targets.</li><li>Manage staff rotas and monitor labour costs.</li><li>Support the Head of Catering with financial reporting and procurement processes.</li></ul><h4>Customer Experience &amp; Innovation</h4><ul><li>Maintain strong relationships with the Site and respond to changing customer needs.</li><li>Introduce new service styles and food concepts to keep menus fresh and engaging.</li><li>Support marketing initiatives and themed events to enhance the dining experience.</li></ul><hr /><h3>What We're Looking For</h3><ul><li>Proven experience in catering management within education or contract catering.</li><li>Strong leadership and communication skills.</li><li>Excellent knowledge of Health &amp; Safety, food hygiene, and allergen management.</li><li>Ability to manage budgets and deliver outstanding customer service.</li></ul> Interested?? Blue Arrow are looking for reliable and proficient HGV Drivers to navigate around the local routes, collecting refuse and recycling waste on different rounds. If your looking for a new long term contract then please apply today!
