Hygiene Operative
We are looking for dedicated Hygiene Operatives to join our team in a fast-paced food manufacturing environment. You will play a key role in maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness, ensuring compliance with food safety regulations, and contributing to a safe working environment. You will be hard working, flexible and have an eye for detail and a passion for the role that you do.
Main duties and responsibilities
- Perform deep cleaning of food production equipment, machinery, and work areas to meet hygiene and safety standards.
- Manual cleaning of large/heavy equipment, including disassembly and reassembly where required.
- Use appropriate cleaning chemicals and sanitizing agents, ensuring safe and correct usage.
- Follow cleaning schedules and standard operating procedures (SOPs) to ensure compliance with food safety regulations (e.g., BRC, HACCP).
- Conduct swabbing and hygiene verification checks as required.
- Work effectively with production, engineering and quality assurance teams to minimize contamination risks.
- Maintain accurate cleaning records and report any issues to management.
- Adhere to health and safety procedures, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Assist with waste disposal and ensure work areas are kept clean and tidy.
- Carry out any other reasonable requests to meet the needs of the business.
Skills
- Previous experience in a hygiene or cleaning role within food manufacturing or a similar environment (preferred).
- Knowledge of food safety standards and hygiene procedures (training will be provided).
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting.
- Have a flexible, positive approach to working.
- Be highly motivated, determined and an enthusiastic individual.
- Ability to work well as part of a team.
- Attention to detail and ability to work independently
Shift patterns
- Part-Time Weekend Shift - Saturday 09:00am - 17:00pm & Sunday 10:00am - 18:00pm
- Full-Time Monday - Friday 2pm-10pm Shift
The pay rate for these roles is £12.21 per hour
