Business Insight Manager

Location: Derby

Salary: Competitive

Hours: 37 per week

About the Role

As Business Insight Manager, you will:

  • Lead and develop business intelligence and performance systems to deliver accurate, actionable insights.
  • Manage statutory returns and ensure compliance with government and regulatory requirements.
  • Oversee a large team of analysts and developers, providing leadership, guidance, and development.
  • Work closely with senior managers across People Services, including Adults and Children's Social Care, SEND, and Inclusion, to support service improvement and planning.
  • Drive evidence-based decision-making and champion data quality across the organisation.

What They Are Looking For

  • Management experience in Local Government is essential.
  • Proven experience in:
  • Delivering statutory returns.
  • Leading large teams and developing staff.
  • Using BI tools and database technologies (e.g., SQL, Power BI).
  • Working within People Services (Adults and Children's Social Care, SEND, Inclusion).
  • Strong analytical, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and prioritise effectively.

Desirable

  • Management qualification.
  • Knowledge of data sharing agreements and performance frameworks.
