Shift Engineer (Electrical Bias)
Location: Leeds
Business Area: Healthcare
Salary: £33,100 + 15% shift allowance (£4,965) = £38,065
Shift Pattern: 4 on / 4 off (6am to 6pm)
About the Role
We are looking for a skilled Shift Engineer (Electrical Bias) to join a dynamic maintenance team at the Leeds Oncology Wing. You will play a key role in ensuring the hospital is maintained to the highest standards, delivering a responsive and customer-focused service.
What You'll Do
- Lead a small shift team of Maintenance Craftsmen and Assistants.
- Carry out reactive and planned maintenance on building, mechanical, and electrical services.
- Work on systems including:
- Heating and domestic water services
- General electrical services (lighting & power)
- Air handling units
- Low voltage electrical distribution
- Emergency standby generators
- Fire alarms & emergency lighting
- Electrical control systems & BMS
- Maintain accurate records and provide regular progress reports.
- Participate in a 24/7/365 rotating shift pattern.
- Undertake training to act as Authorised Person when required.
- Occasionally assist with minor installation and upgrade works.
What We're Looking For
- Qualified time-served engineer with at least 3 years post-apprenticeship experience.
- Electrical bias with multi-skilled flexibility.
- Healthcare experience desirable but not essential.
- Cross-trade experience advantageous.
