At Blue Arrow we are always looking for talented and dedicated Chefs to join our clients kitchen team. We are currently looking for Chefs to cover a number of temporary roles within Blackpool, mainly in Primary Schools. As a Chef you will:· Prepare vegetables, meats and fish with guidance from senior chefs· Ensure ingredients and preparation is ready for service for more senior Chefs· Measure/weigh dish ingredients and portion sizes accurately· Deal with deliveries and stock rotation· Assist other section chefs during service· Cook and prepare elements of high-quality dishes with guidance· Help with deliveries and restocking· Contribute to maintaining kitchen and food safety standards· Cleaning stations and kitchen equipment throughout the day and at the end of service Qualifications/Licences/Certifications/ExperienceEssential· Enhanced DBS is essential· Experience working well in a team and communicating with the other members of staff· Basic cooking skills· Food Hygiene Level One· Level 1 and 2 Food Safety Awards· Minimum 6 months relevant experience· Awareness of manual handling techniques· Awareness of Control of Substances Hazardous to Health Regulations (COSHH) and chemical safety· Experience of kitchen equipment· Experience of dangerous equipment such as knives· Competent level of English spoken and written So if you're ready to use your skills and passion for cooking in a school kitchen then apply for the role of a Chef today.Blue Arrow is proud to be a Disability Confident Employer and is committed to helping find great work opportunities for great people.

You will previously have been employed as a catering assistant and be able to evidence working in a fast-paced environment.You will be reliable - hard working and happy to travel up to 5 miles from home if requiredWe have ongoing work and looking for you being able to work a minimum of 3 days per week - maximum 5. What we require?· Hold a DBS dated in past year· Have at least 6 months catering experience· Have a level 1 or 2 Food Hygiene cert· Experience in a catering setting This role would suit someone looking for part time work - or someone that wants to balance family around a working day. We cover sites all over Blackpool - there is an expectation that you can travel up to 5 miles if needed - local bus routes go to all our sites. We're currently hiring enthusiastic and dependable Catering Assistants to support our clients in the Blackpool &amp; Preston areas. This role is ideal for individuals who enjoy working in a lively setting and take pride in providing great service. Working as part of a team your daily tasks will mainly consist of:* To be familiar with all food Items/drinks on offer and be able to recommend items* Clear plates and cutlery* To ensure areas are adequately stocked with the service equipment required* To keep a good standard of cleanliness and hygiene in all areas, assisting in basic cleaning duties as required* To adhere to licensing laws and trading standards at all times* To upsell food and beverage when possible* To ensure that the close of business cleaning is carried out* To comply with Health &amp; Safety regulations* To comply with standards of dress and appearance* To prepare and serve food and beverage up to company standards In addition to the above you will also need good communication skills &amp; experience in a similar role would be advantageous.Please note that a DBS disclosure may be required for this role and appropriate evidence necessary to support the application.
