Job Advert: Health &amp; Safety Advisor (Initial 3-Month Contract)Salary: Up to £39,873.90 per annumContract Type: Initial 3-month contractHours: 37.5 hours per week (Monday to Friday, 8am-4pm)Location: Thornton Facility - FY7Start Date: ImmediateWe are seeking a highly skilled and proactive Health &amp; Safety Advisor to join our team on a short-term contract basis. This role is critical in ensuring the health, safety, and well-being of employees, visitors, and the environment across our operational sites.Key Responsibilities:<ul><li>Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations, particularly in waste management.</li><li>Conduct audits, inspections, and risk assessments to identify hazards and implement control measures.</li><li>Develop and maintain safety policies, procedures, and emergency response plans.</li><li>Investigate incidents and near misses, ensuring accurate reporting and corrective actions.</li><li>Promote a strong safety culture through training, engagement, and continuous improvement.</li><li>Liaise with regulatory bodies and stakeholders on safety matters.</li><li>Manage health and safety data systems and reporting mechanisms.</li></ul>Requirements:Essential:<ul><li>NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent.</li><li>Membership of IOSH or IIRSM.</li><li>Strong understanding of health and safety regulations.</li><li>Experience in risk assessment, incident investigation, and safety audits.</li><li>Excellent communication and ICT skills.</li></ul>Desirable:<ul><li>NEBOSH National Diploma or Level 6 qualification.</li><li>Experience in waste processing or similar environments.</li><li>Project management and people management experience.</li></ul>Benefits:<ul><li>26 days holiday + statutory holidays (pro rata)</li><li>Pension scheme (up to 5% matched)</li><li>Death in service cover (4x basic salary)</li><li>Business expenses reimbursed (including mileage at HMRC rates)</li></ul><hr style="text-align: center;" /> If you're a safety-focused professional with a passion for driving high standards and continuous improvement, we'd love to hear from you.Apply now to make an immediate impact.Blue Arrow is proud to be a Disability Confident Employer and is committed to helping find great work opportunities for great people.
