Salary: Up to £39,873.90 per annum
Contract Type: Initial 3-month contract
Hours: 37.5 hours per week (Monday to Friday, 8am-4pm)
Location: Thornton Facility - FY7
Start Date: Immediate
We are seeking a highly skilled and proactive Health & Safety Advisor to join our team on a short-term contract basis. This role is critical in ensuring the health, safety, and well-being of employees, visitors, and the environment across our operational sites.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations, particularly in waste management.
- Conduct audits, inspections, and risk assessments to identify hazards and implement control measures.
- Develop and maintain safety policies, procedures, and emergency response plans.
- Investigate incidents and near misses, ensuring accurate reporting and corrective actions.
- Promote a strong safety culture through training, engagement, and continuous improvement.
- Liaise with regulatory bodies and stakeholders on safety matters.
- Manage health and safety data systems and reporting mechanisms.
Requirements:
Essential:
- NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent.
- Membership of IOSH or IIRSM.
- Strong understanding of health and safety regulations.
- Experience in risk assessment, incident investigation, and safety audits.
- Excellent communication and ICT skills.
Desirable:
- NEBOSH National Diploma or Level 6 qualification.
- Experience in waste processing or similar environments.
- Project management and people management experience.
