Contract Type: Initial 3-month contract

Hours: 37.5 hours per week (Monday to Friday, 8am-4pm)

Location: Thornton Facility - FY7

Start Date: Immediate

We are seeking a highly skilled and proactive Health & Safety Advisor to join our team on a short-term contract basis. This role is critical in ensuring the health, safety, and well-being of employees, visitors, and the environment across our operational sites.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations, particularly in waste management.
  • Conduct audits, inspections, and risk assessments to identify hazards and implement control measures.
  • Develop and maintain safety policies, procedures, and emergency response plans.
  • Investigate incidents and near misses, ensuring accurate reporting and corrective actions.
  • Promote a strong safety culture through training, engagement, and continuous improvement.
  • Liaise with regulatory bodies and stakeholders on safety matters.
  • Manage health and safety data systems and reporting mechanisms.

Requirements:

Essential:

  • NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent.
  • Membership of IOSH or IIRSM.
  • Strong understanding of health and safety regulations.
  • Experience in risk assessment, incident investigation, and safety audits.
  • Excellent communication and ICT skills.

Desirable:

  • NEBOSH National Diploma or Level 6 qualification.
  • Experience in waste processing or similar environments.
  • Project management and people management experience.
