Position Summary

Blue Arrow is currently recruiting experienced and reliable Class 2 Bin Lorry Drivers to support waste management operations for a local authority in the Glasgow area. This is an excellent opportunity for qualified drivers seeking stable, ongoing work with the potential for permanent employment.

Key Details
Employment Type: Ongoing temporary contract with high potential for permanent placement
Pay Rate:
Standard hourly rate: £13.07
Additional hour for vehicle checks: £19.67
Shift Pattern:
4 days on / 4 days off rotation
Shifts may include early starts and weekend work depending on operational needs
Start Date: Subject to successful completion of assessment and induction

Responsibilities
Operate Class 2 refuse collection vehicles in accordance with safety and operational standards
Conduct daily vehicle checks and report any defects
Work collaboratively with loaders and depot staff to ensure timely and efficient waste collection
Adhere to all relevant health & safety and local authority regulations
Maintain accurate records of routes, collections, and vehicle usage

Candidate Requirements
Valid Class 2 (Category C) driving licence
Valid CPC (Driver Certificate of Professional Competence)
Digital Tachograph Card
Previous experience in waste collection or similar driving roles preferred
Must be available for assessment and induction prior to starting
Strong understanding of road safety and vehicle maintenance procedures
Good communication and teamwork skills
