📢 Job Opportunity: Temporary Hospital Catering Manager (Band 6)

Location: Hospital Cardiff Area

Contract Type: Temporary

Salary: £16.96 + holiday pay (£19.78 after 12 weeks)

Hours: Full-time

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Hospital Catering Manager to lead our catering services on a temporary basis. This is a senior role within the Facilities team, responsible for the strategic and operational management of catering services across the hospital, ensuring high standards of food quality, safety, and patient satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

  • Financial Management:
    • Manage the catering budget effectively.
    • Lead on cost improvement initiatives.
    • Oversee capital equipment replacement planning.
  • Staff Management:
    • Supervise and support catering staff.
    • Ensure effective workforce planning and development.
  • Service Delivery:
    • Ensure consistent delivery of high-quality, nutritious meals to patients, staff, and visitors.
    • Monitor and improve service performance.
  • Compliance & Quality:
    • Maintain compliance with food safety and NHS standards.
    • Monitor patient and customer satisfaction and respond to feedback.

Requirements

  • Qualifications:
    • NVQ Level 3/4 in Management, ILM Level 4, or equivalent.
    • Degree-level qualification
  • Experience:
    • Proven experience managing catering or facilities staff.
    • Strong background in budgetary control and service planning.
    • NHS or private healthcare environment experience preferred.
  • Skills:
    • Excellent project management and organisational skills.
    • Strong communication and problem-solving abilities.
    • Ability to lead and motivate a diverse team.
