Temporary Sous Chef - Bedford

Pay: £15 ph - £22ph

Location : Bedford

Key Responsibilities

• Assist Head Chefs in delivering high-quality food service across diverse venues (restaurants, hotels, events, corporate kitchens, etc.)
• Supervise kitchen staff and ensure smooth day-to-day operations
• Maintain high standards of food preparation, presentation, and hygiene
• Adapt quickly to different kitchen setups, menus, and team structures
• Support with inventory management, ordering, and stock rotation
• Uphold food safety and health regulations at all times
• Step into leadership roles when required, especially during busy periods or staff shortages

Travel & Flexibility

• Willingness to travel to various client sites, sometimes at short notice
• Flexible working hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
• Ability to work in both short-term and longer-term placements

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Sous Chef or Senior Chef de Partie
• Culinary qualification or equivalent experience
• Strong leadership and communication skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Full UK driving licence and access to reliable transport (preferred)
• Up-to-date food hygiene and safety certifications
