Finance Management Information Officer Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM (37 hours per week)Pay Rate: £18.24 per hourLocation: Fully on-site, Bolton BL1 Role Summary:We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Finance Management Information Officer to join our public sector finance team in Bolton. This career-grade role offers a clear development pathway, with responsibilities and pay increasing as you progress from Grade F to Grade G (part CCAB qualified). You'll play a key role in supporting budget holders, analysing financial performance, and contributing to strategic financial planning across the directorate. Key Responsibilities:Entry Level Duties:<ul><li>Assist in the preparation and maintenance of departmental budgets.</li><li>Monitor specific service areas of the revenue budget to support financial control and performance review.</li><li>Provide financial advice and support to budget holders across the department.</li><li>Develop and deliver financial information including unit costs and budget monitoring reports.</li><li>Support the preparation of final accounts and revenue budgets for designated areas.</li><li>Collaborate with budget holders to agree allocations and monitoring data.</li><li>Contribute to financial training development and delivery.</li><li>Maintain effective communication with internal and external stakeholders.</li><li>Support the development of IT-based financial systems.</li><li>Attend management meetings as required.</li><li>Undertake additional duties within the finance section as needed.</li></ul>Advanced Duties (Part CCAB Qualified):<ul><li>Lead on budget preparation and maintenance for designated service areas.</li><li>Work closely with budget managers to appraise projects for cost-effectiveness and value for money.</li><li>Identify financial risks and support mitigation strategies.</li><li>Take a lead role in delivering financial training across the department.</li><li>Provide financial input into departmental initiatives and projects.</li><li>Manage specific financial projects or developments.</li><li>Prepare monthly budget monitoring reports aligned with corporate planning.</li><li>Maintain strong communication and collaboration with budget holders and other departments.</li><li>Drive improvements in financial systems and processes using IT tools.</li><li>Support final account preparation and other strategic financial tasks.</li></ul>Candidate Profile:<ul><li>Experience in public sector finance, budgeting, or management accounting.</li><li>Strong analytical and communication skills.</li><li>Proficiency in financial systems and Microsoft Excel.</li><li>Ability to work collaboratively with stakeholders at all levels.</li><li>Commitment to professional development (e.g., working towards CCAB qualification).</li></ul> Benefits:<ul><li>Career progression opportunities.</li><li>Training and development support.</li><li>Pension scheme and other public sector benefits.</li><li>Stable working hours and on-site team collaboration.</li></ul> Blue Arrow is proud to be a Disability Confident Employer and is committed to helping find great work opportunities for great people.
