This is a hands-on role ideal for someone who enjoys working outdoors and contributing to cleaner, safer public spaces. Job Role: Street Scene OperativeLocation: DarlingtonContract Type: Temporary - 2 months (with likely extension)Pay Rate: £12.85 per hour (PAYE)Hours: Full-time, 37 hours per week (working 07.30 to 15.30 Monday to Thursday 07.30 to 15.00 on a Friday) Key Responsibilities:<ul><li>Emptying litter and dog waste bins across designated routes.</li><li>Clearing back lanes and public areas of waste, debris and leaves.</li><li>Providing rapid response to issues such as fly tipping and dog fouling.</li><li>Operating equipment and vehicles safely and efficiently.</li><li>Supporting general grounds maintenance and street cleansing tasks.</li><li>Engaging courteously with members of the public when required.</li></ul>Requirements:<ul><li>Ability to carry out manual handling and physical outdoor work.</li><li>Experience using relevant tools and equipment (training provided if needed).</li><li>Strong communication skills and a team-oriented attitude.</li><li>Willingness to work in varying weather conditions.</li><li>A full UK driving licence is desirable but not essential.</li></ul>What's on Offer:<ul><li>Immediate start</li><li>£12.85 per hour (PAYE)</li><li>2-month contract with potential for extension</li><li>Supportive team environment and meaningful work</li></ul>If you're ready to roll up your sleeves and help keep our streets clean and welcoming, we'd love to hear from you.
