Arborist needed!! * Salary: £14.82 per hour * Location: Parsons Depot, NE37 * Hours: Monday - Friday 7.30am - 3.30pm 37 hours per week Call out is on a rota basis and is for 1 week, starts Monday 07:30 to the following Monday. Requirements: * Full UK driving licence (with C1 E desirable) * Relevant NPTC / LANTRA Certificates in Chainsaw Operation, Climbing &amp; Aerial Rescue, Chainsaw from a rope and harness, chainsaw from a MEWP and Tree Felling. Key Responsibilities * Undertake all aspects of arboricultural work, including tree pruning, felling. * Operate chainsaws, wood chippers, MEWPs (Mobile Elevated Work Platforms), and other specialist machinery safely and efficiently. * Carry out aerial tree work using rope and harness in compliance with industry standards. * Ensure safe working practices at all times, protecting colleagues, the public, and property. * Provide advice and information to members of the public when required in a courteous and professional manner. * Participate in emergency call-out and storm response duties as part of the arboriculture service team. * Undertake routine maintenance and checks of vehicles, tools, and equipment. * Keep accurate records of works undertaken in line with Council procedures. Tree pruning/felling

Fire Safety Officer needed! Salary: £18.26 per hour Location: Tyne and Wear, NE1 Hours: Monday - Friday 9am - 5pm Till November 2025 (will possibility of extension) This role requires as a minimum one day in the office which is on a Monday. The successful applicant can work from home for the remainder of their time, other than when visiting premises. To advise the Council on the most appropriate and cost effective standards of fire safety in its premises and work operations in accordance with the relevant statutory requirements and codes of practice and carry out fire risk assessments. Main Duties 1. To carry out fire risk assessments, fire safety inspections and DSEAR assessments of Council premises, sites and work operations as required. 2. To provide advice and guidance to directorates regarding fire safety to assist in identifying and mitigating risk. 3. To carry out investigations of any fire safety related incidents as required. 4. To prepare, assessments, CAD fire safety plans and reports. 5. To support the development and monitoring of corporate policy and strategies in relation to the Council's internal fire safety standards and codes of practice. 6. To assist in designing, procuring and delivering appropriate fire safety training.
