Restaurant General Manager - Southampton Leisure Site

We are recruiting a Restaurant General Manager for our Southampton leisure site on a full-time, permanent basis, working 38 hours per week including alternate weekends.

Pay Rate from £41,000 per annum D.O.E

The Role of Restaurant General Manager

As the Restaurant General Manager, you will lead a large restaurant team to deliver exceptional standards, achieve targets, and develop the team to provide excellent customer service. You will understand that the team is key to your success and will develop their skill levels to ensure the achievement of budgeted sales and margins.

You will manage and deliver the induction and training of all new catering staff, as well as identify individual needs and actively support learning and development plans.


Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Lead and manage the front-of-house and kitchen teams
  • Achieve sales targets, manage margin, and reduce waste
  • Monitor and control staffing levels in response to trading environments
  • Accountable for all people processes including recruitment, induction, and performance management
  • Develop the Assistant Restaurant Manager and Supervisors to ensure succession within your team
  • Act as duty manager and support colleagues across the wider leisure site
  • Accountable for all health and safety within the restaurant, ensuring the highest standards are embedded throughout the team and areas

About You

This role is ideal for someone with outstanding leadership skills and previous experience managing high-volume, high-turnover food service operations. Excellent customer service and communication skills are essential, along with a working knowledge of health and safety/food hygiene legislation.
