About the Role
As General Manager, you will be responsible for the overall operation, strategic direction, and commercial performance of Sittingbourne Racecourse. You'll lead a diverse team across racing, events, hospitality, and grounds management, ensuring every visitor enjoys a world-class experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee day-to-day operations of the racecourse, including racing events, hospitality, and venue management
- Develop and implement strategic plans to grow revenue and enhance customer satisfaction
- Lead, motivate, and manage staff across multiple departments
- Ensure compliance with health & safety, licensing, and industry regulations
- Build strong relationships with stakeholders, sponsors, and the local community
- Drive marketing and promotional initiatives to increase attendance and brand visibility
- Manage budgets, financial reporting, and operational efficiency
About You
- Proven experience in a senior management role, ideally within sport, leisure, or hospitality
- Strong leadership and people management skills
- Commercially astute with a track record of driving revenue growth
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities
- Passion for racing and delivering memorable customer experiences
- Flexible, resilient, and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment
