Business Support Assistant
Location: On-site, Theale (Reading)
Hours: Full-time
Salary: £25,000 - £27,000 DOE

I'm currently recruiting for a Business Support Assistant to join a well-established organisation based in Theale. This is a full-time, on-site role offering a varied and hands-on position within a busy office environment. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting day-to-day operations and ensuring the smooth running of administrative and facilities functions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Front-of-house duties including answering incoming calls and greeting visitors.
  • General administrative support to staff across multiple office locations.
  • Managing office supplies, equipment maintenance, and refreshments.
  • Handling incoming and outgoing post, including courier arrangements.
  • Booking travel and training for staff and maintaining related records.
  • Supporting health and safety processes including lone worker monitoring and reporting.
  • Assisting with promotional and training materials, bid support, and monthly reporting.
  • Maintaining vehicle insurance and mileage records.
  • Overseeing PPE stock and lifejacket servicing.
  • Supporting new staff inductions and facilities management.
  • Updating project tracking systems and contractor timesheets.
  • Responding to enquiries via phone, email, and web, often requiring interpretation of technical drawings and understanding of relevant guidelines.

Candidate Profile

  • Previous experience in an administrative role is essential.
  • Confident and professional communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Awareness of health and safety practices (e.g., risk assessments, safe systems of work).
  • Experience in an engineering or technical office environment is desirable.
  • Facilities management experience is a plus.
