Chef de Partie - Peterborough

📌 Role Overview
- Job Title: Chef de Partie
- Location: Cambridge
- Responsible To: Head Chef (via Senior Sous Chef, Sous Chefs & Senior CDPs)
- Department Head: Catering Manager
- Salary: £29,039.70 per annum
- Plus paid overtime
- Plus non-contractual bonus (subject to eligibility)
- Hours: Average 37.5 hours/week
- Rota includes evenings and weekends
- Flexibility required for occasional out-of-hours work
- Holidays: 34 days annual leave (inclusive of public holidays)
- Pension: Defined contributory scheme
- 3% employee / 6% employer contributions
- Option to increase contributions annually (up to 7% employee / 14% employer)

👨‍🍳 Key Responsibilities
- Prepare, cook, and present dishes to the highest standards
- Maintain allergen-free sections with no processed ingredients
- Support cost control and reduce food waste
- Communicate dietary requirements for daily service
- Uphold hygiene, HACCP, and food safety standards
- Collaborate with kitchen, front-of-house, and other departments
- Ensure proper food storage, temperature checks, and labelling
- Cover other sections when needed and undertake training as required
- Maintain a clean, professional appearance and uniform

✅ Person Specification
Qualifications:
You should hold City & Guilds 706/1 or NVQ Level 1 and be working toward Level 2. A basic food hygiene certificate is essential. Additional qualifications such as City & Guilds 706/2, NVQ Level 3, or a Level 2 Safety Awareness certificate are desirable.
Experience:
Practical experience in a busy kitchen is essential, along with the ability to work effectively in a team. Experience with COSHH and good customer service skills are a plus.
Abilities & Attributes:
You'll need to demonstrate high standards of hygiene and service, attention to detail, and the ability to work under pressure. A flexible, collaborative approach and a smart, reliable, hardworking attitude are key.
