Contract Type: Permanent
Salary: £34,000 per annum
Hours: 45 hours per week
Shift Pattern: Wednesday-Sunday
- Days Off: Monday & Tuesday
- Shifts:
- Wednesday & Sunday: 10am-4pm
- Thursday-Saturday: 10am-9pm
Covers:
- Lunch & Dinner Service: 50-60 covers
- Functions & Events: Set menus for up to 180 covers

About the Role
We're looking for a skilled and motivated Sous Chef to join a small, passionate kitchen team at a busy leisure venue in Lymington. With a focus on gastro pub-style cuisine, this role offers variety-from daily service to large-scale functions and events.
You'll support the Head Chef in delivering high-quality dishes, mentoring junior staff, and helping shape seasonal menus that showcase fresh, locally sourced ingredients.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the daily running of the kitchen and lead in the Head Chef's absence.
- Prepare and present dishes to a high standard for both à la carte and event menus.
- Support menu planning and development.
- Maintain kitchen hygiene and food safety standards.
- Manage stock, ordering, and supplier relationships.
- Foster a positive and collaborative team culture.
What We're Looking For
- Proven experience as a Sous Chef or strong CDP ready to step up.
- Confident working in a fast-paced kitchen with varied service styles.
- Skilled in preparing fresh, seasonal dishes with a gastro pub influence.
- Experience with large-scale functions and set menus.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Passion for food, teamwork, and delivering great customer experiences.
