Kitchen Assistant

* a Kitchen Assistant working 30 hours per week, Monday - Friday afternoon
* (10pm - 5pm) all year round (50 weeks a year)
* Up to 35 days annual leave - 20 days holiday, 8 bank holidays, 1 pro-rata birthday day, 1 bonus day and up to 5 further days with years of service
* Option to carry over up to 5 annual leave days, at the end of each year

* Duties:
* Support chef ensuring that all kitchen equipment is clean and well-maintained.
* Follow food safety protocols to maintain a clean and hygienic kitchen environment.
* To support/assist the Nursery Chef in ensuring a high standard of catering with all food being
* prepared for the children through following the policies, procedures, legislative guidelines and
* relevant instructions as set out by the Nursery.
* To complete advanced Food Hygiene Certificate
* Requirements of Kitchen Assistant role:
* Good understanding of the importance of health and hygiene
* Experience in a kitchen environment (nursery or school settings desirable)
* Clear DBS
* Understanding of catering for special diets, allergies and intolerances
* Strong communication skills
* Good timekeeping and organisational skills
* An enthusiastic, flexible, can-do attitude
* Ability to work quickly but efficiently.
* Ability to work well in a team
