We're looking for a highly skilled Head Chef to lead a thriving, high-volume catering operation in a dynamic education setting.
📌 Position Details
- Salary: £30,695 - £35,095
- Hours: 37 hours/week (Term time + 1 week)
- Contract Type: Permanent
- Start Date: September 2025

This pivotal role reports to the Catering Manager and holds full responsibility for running the kitchen. The operation includes:
- Daily catering for up to 5,000 students
- Dedicated service for boarding students
- A growing in-house hospitality provision
👨🍳👨🍳 Ideal Candidate Profile
We're seeking someone who is:
- A Head Chef or Senior Sous Chef with proven experience in large-scale catering (2000+ meals daily)
- A strong and inspirational leader, capable of guiding a brigade of 15-20 staff
- Passionate about delivering high-quality, fresh food
- Highly skilled in menu development and kitchen creativity
- Well-versed in HACCP, food safety, and health & safety regulations
- Financially astute, with experience in budgeting, costing, and minimising waste
- Organised, resilient under pressure, and communicates clearly
- Empathetic and genuinely interested in catering for young people
