Warehouse / FLT Operative

About the Role

We are seeking a dependable and skilled Warehouse Operative to join our dynamic logistics team at a busy distribution centre in the Thames Valley region. This is a hands-on role ideal for individuals with proven experience operating Counterbalance or Pivot Steer (Bendi/Flexi) forklifts, who thrive in fast-paced environments and take pride in maintaining high standards of safety and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

• Forklift Operations: Safely operate Counterbalance or Pivot Steer forklifts to transport goods, load/unload vehicles, and replenish stock.
• Goods Handling: Accurately pick, pack, and prepare orders for dispatch, ensuring all items are handled with care and precision.
• Inventory Management: Assist with stock control, cycle counts, and inventory accuracy using handheld scanners or warehouse systems.
• Health & Safety Compliance: Adhere to all site safety protocols, conduct equipment checks, and report any hazards or incidents promptly.
• Warehouse Maintenance: Keep work areas clean, organized, and free from obstructions to ensure a safe and efficient workflow.
• Team Collaboration: Work closely with supervisors and team members to meet daily targets and support continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements

• Valid Forklift Licence: Counterbalance or Pivot Steer (Bendi/Flexi) certification is essential.
• Experience: Minimum 1 year of hands-on experience in a warehouse or logistics setting.
• Attention to Detail: Ability to follow instructions accurately and maintain high standards of quality control.
• Physical Fitness: Capable of manual handling and standing for extended periods.
• Flexibility: Willingness to work late shifts and adapt to changing workloads or priorities.
• Communication Skills: Clear verbal and written communication to support team coordination and documentation.
