We are currently looking for a highly motivated and technically skilled Mechanical Estimator to join our Projects Department based in Dartford. This role will be the key figure for all tendering opportunities and the successful handover of awarded projects to the management team.

Key Responsibilities

• Apply the ABSL Projects "Bid / No Bid" protocols and escalate any uncertainties to senior management.

• Review contract documents, drawings, and specifications to prepare detailed and accurate project estimates.

• Attend site visits to gather necessary information for accurate costing.

• Manage estimate deadlines effectively, prioritising tasks to meet submission timelines.

• Identify operational and commercial risks early in the bidding process.

• Ensure estimates align with margin expectations and offer compliant scopes of work.

• Provide value engineering and alternative proposals when beneficial.

Requirements

• Strong technical understanding of mechanical systems with general awareness of wider M&E disciplines.

• Proven track record of successfully estimating and winning mechanical projects up to £5 million.

• Minimum of 5 years' experience in an HVAC projects-led environment.

• Excellent organisational and time-management skills.

• Effective communicator able to interact across various teams and levels.

• High levels of energy, drive, and a self-motivated attitude.

• Proficiency with estimating tools (ideally Ametch) and Microsoft Office Suite.
