About the Role
The Performance Improvement Manager will play a crucial role in driving the growth and success of NIAS. As part of the Planning, Performance and Strategic Transformation Sub-Directorate and working closely with the Head of Performance, you will be responsible for monitoring service delivery performance and for the co-ordination and implementation of performance improvement strategies across the organisation.
You will support senior operational and data analysis leaders in identifying performance improvement opportunities for delivering improved patient care in line with the strategic priorities contained within the NIAS Corporate Plan 2024-26.
The role will lead on performance improvement planning and monitoring, recovery actions and bespoke plans as required.

Responsibilities
* Liaise regularly with the Head of Performance and Head of Strategic Transformation to assess and plan how strategic plans can be translated into operational delivery plans with a focus on performance improvement.
* Contribute to strategic thinking on medium to long term performance improvement strategies.
* Engage with key stakeholders, sector management teams and Trade Unions to optimise service delivery.
* Demonstrate that NIAS delivers its contractual obligations and represents value for money.
* Ensure all performance reports and statistics are maintained from the relevant systems, ensuring effective and accurate management of data and reporting along with compliance with Data Protection and Freedom of Information legislation.
* Lead on the Trust's Performance Analysis and ensure that supports the delivery of high-quality care and cost-effective patient care. Disseminate actionable insights to all relevant parties across the Trust.
* Support engagement and dialogue with the DoH regarding performance issues and improvement programmes, ensuring continued engagement and assurance is provided.
The Performance Improvement Manager will contribute to the design and implementation of the Service Delivery Model for NIAS through the following responsibilities:
* Develop and implement strategies to improve operational efficiency and performance across the organisation.
* Conduct regular performance assessments to identify areas of improvement and recommend solutions.
* Liaise effectively with the Head of Performance to identify, develop and implement agreed service wide performance improvement strategies.
* Lead on the co-ordination and delivery of operational performance improvement trajectories through data analysis and reporting.
* Establish metrics, benchmarks and trajectories to monitor and evaluate performance improvement initiatives.
* Provide leadership and guidance to project teams, ensuring effective implementation and execution of improvement plans.
Criteria
Hold a relevant degree or a recognised professional qualification or equivalent/higher qualification. And have at least 3 years' experience in performance improvement management, preferably in a healthcare setting.
OR
At least 5 years' experience in a specific Performance Improvement Management role or Business Improvement role demonstrating successful delivery and tangible improvements, benefits and outcomes.
AND
Demonstrate proficiency with Microsoft Outlook; Word; Excel, PowerPoint and data analysis software. Strong analytical skills and experience managing large datasets to extract information
Hold a current full driving licence which is valid for use in the UK and have access to a car on appointment

- Strong data analytical skills and the ability to interpret and work with complex datasets are essential to the role
- The ability to apply these analytical skills to business problems to ascertain improvement opportunities
- Ability to roll out and enhance existing performance management frameworks
- Clear skills in the ability to develop metrics and indicators across all functions within the organisation
- Ability to embed performance reporting within the organisation and develop performance reporting throughout the organisation
- Someone that has worked with senior managers in organisations from 8a and above
