Ensure effective liaison and close working between your team and other service units, to ensure new development will achieve high standards of design, layout, and landscaping, and meets the Council's housing, environmental, transportation and sustainability objectives. Ensure efficient and effective performance of the team functions, reviewing regularly and making any necessary recommendations for change. Recruit, manage, motivate and develop employees in the service area, ensuring their health, safety and well-being at work, in order to ensure all aspects of service delivery are provided to the highest possible standard. Ensure that your team produces professional and technically robust reports. Attend Council, Committee and other public meetings as required. Be the lead professional officer in high profile and sensitive cases as directed by the Development Management Service Manager and the Assistant Director (Planning). Ground Maintenance - TEMP Location - Bedford Pay : £12.48ph Mon - Fri * Lawn and Garden Care: Regularly mow lawns, trim hedges, and remove weeds to maintain a well[1]groomed appearance of the university's outdoor spaces. * Sports Facilities: Facilitate external sport spaces in maintaining grounds and equipment to allow for various uses and users (including specialist playing surfaces). * Seasonal Tasks: Assist with tasks such as snow removal during winter months, ensuring pathways, parking areas, and building entrances are clear and safe for use. Perform leaf collection and clearing in autumn. Winter gritting, (by hand or small hand pushed gritter). * Outdoor Cleaning: Ensure pathways, outdoor seating areas, and other external spaces are kept clean and free of litter or debris, contributing to a pleasant campus environment. External window cleaning. * Planting and Landscaping: Maintain and enhance the university's flower beds, shrubs, and trees, ensuring a welcoming and vibrant campus atmosphere.
