Blue Arrow are currently recruiting for a Maintenance Officer for one of our clients based in Glasgow City Centre area.
Working days/Hours:
- Monday, Wednesday, Friday (8am to 4pm or 9am to 5pm) - working days negotiable but it;s part time work, 3 days a week
Pay rate:
- £15.80ph to £18.30ph - depends on experience
Duties:
- To manage reactive repairs
- To carry out a regime of plant and system inspections to identify and remedy any failures or matters requiring attention.
- To monitor the operational performance of HVAC systems via the BMS.
- To carry out weekly inspections of fire detection and suppression systems to ensure these systems are fully operational and available across all buildings.
- To assist in the management of the legislative compliance requirements of asbestos, legionella, gas services, water hygiene, electrical safety and testing, lift safety compliance and insurance inspections.
- To issue permits to work and approve contractor health and safety documentation including risk assessments and method statements.
- To provide technical support and guidance.
- To monitor contractor performance on all repairs and maintenance works across all trades and disciplines and to produce regular update reports for consideration.
- To work with the Maintenance Manager to decide any actions and immediate priorities.
- To participate in monthly health and safety active monitoring and inspections within the Estates Department, liaising with the Health and Safety team.
Experience / Qualifications:
- Trades background with M&E knowledge.
- Working in a multi team environment.
- Knowledge of Health and Safety with NEBOSH or similar as a minimum.
- Professional or technical qualification in a building discipline.
- Experience in legislative compliance requirements of electrical and gas safety, water hygiene, asbestos, fire safety etc.
Skills and Attributes

- Excellent communication skills,
- Strong customer/ stakeholder relationship skills.
- Good IT skills relevant to the role with competence in the use of email, web, Microsoft Office Suite and Building Management Systems.
- Ability to assist in the management and actions arising from the Estates help desk and to organise tasks and demands.
- Proven problem solving capability.
