You will be working within Care homes, nursing homes, retirement villages, nurseries outdoor activity centres, plus much more. You will be required to help and support with any sickness, short term, and long term, also to support with the increase demand. We can offer you flexibility for, daytime shifts, occasional weekends, and great pay rates. The more flexible you are with travelling and the role you cover the more shifts and work we can offer. The working environment Due to the various types of sites we cover, your working environment will change from site to site.Within our care homes environments, the ideal candidate will be working with fresh nutritious food adhering to dietary requirements, cooking a variety of sold, modified and texture meals ensuring residents have a hot meal provided daily.Our nursery clients will be very similar as some smaller children from 0-3 years of age which will require texture diets too.We also supply to contract catering sites, Schools, Prisons, Hotels, restaurants, events plus many more hospitality venues, I am sure we have something to fit your experience and needs.Our sites will have menus to be working with or another chef/assistant on site to support, however on some occasions you may be required to be working alone due to number of people on site.We will always look to place you in the most comfortable environments for you. Main Duties<ul><li>Work within a team to ensure jobs are completed for the day</li><li>Putting away deliveries.</li><li>Working to specific diets including texture diets.</li><li>Possibility of food orders, dependant on the role you are placed into i.e head chef/chef manager.</li><li>Assist with the preparation of food &amp; other areas of the kitchen including pot washing.</li><li>Adhering to all relevant health and safety requirements</li><li>Completing all H&amp;S documentation via a tablet or on their paper documents.</li><li>Cooking nutritious food within requirements</li><li>Ensure a clean as you go policy is always operated</li><li>Possibility of serving food</li><li>Possibility of till operation</li></ul>Requirements and skills:<ul><li>Previous experience as a chef up to chef de partie level within the last 2 years.</li><li>Experience within a nursery or care home</li><li>Flexibility in shift patterns including weekends</li><li>Experience with the IDDSI framework</li><li>Great communication and team work skills</li><li>Level 2 food hygiene certificate (ideal but not essential as training is provided)</li><li>Food Allergen certificates</li><li>Passion for food</li><li>Ability to work under pressure</li><li>Due to certain locations a full UK driving license is required along with own access to a vehicle</li><li>Ability to cover ad hoc days due to client demand - you maybe required to cover same day requirements or bookings within less than 24 hours' notice, to cover absences and holiday cover.
