Job Title: Repair Engineer (Aerospace) Location: Blackwood Salary: £45,000 per annum Hours: Full time. Duties/ Responsibilities Reporting to the engineering manager as a repair engineer, you will be required to provide a high level of support to the workshop and design repair schemes under our EASA/ UK CAA 145 and UK CAA Part 21J approval. Ideally you will be familiar with aircraft engine nacelles, composites materials, repair design practices and procedures and have a sound understanding of aerospace repair processes. You will also be required to liaise with OEM's providing in-depth reports from time to time. Required Experience Aerospace background with a minimum of degree in Mechanical/Aeronautical Engineering is essential Proven record of producing solutions to diverse engineering projects Ideally have a minimum of 5 years experience within the aerospace industry and a repair design background Develop structurally acceptable and cost-effective repair schemes for a wide variety of aerospace components, both metallic and composite. Substantiation of all schemes is necessary to satisfy EASA/ UKCAA requirements Draw basic engineering drawings using CATIA Carry out damage investigations and compile reports Provide full technical support to production teams using sound material and process knowledge Liaise with OEM, regulatory bodies and/or vendors on technical issues Carry out stress analysis in support of Repair Approval process Work well within a team and be able to use own initiative Must be able to provide a high standard of both written and oral communication to all levels of the business whether formal or informal. Repair Engineer

The position attracts an annual basic salary of: £37, 826 plus overtime if required, paid weekly. Hours of work: 37.5 hrs / week. 07:00 to 15:00 Monday - Friday. Overview The successful candidate's primary role is to perform hands-on machining and fabricating parts for various types of aircraft components. Incumbent should be able to carry out various standard tool room tasks using the following equipment: Bridport vertical miller Pillar drill Colchester NC lathe Surface grinder Brenner NC vertical miller In addition to the machine room operations, the candidate will work in tooling room using following equipment: Romer Scan Arm and Geomagic or Spatial Analyzer Cad software. Leica Laser Tracker and Brunson Optical Equipment MIG Welder Standard Calibration and measuring tools Duties and Responsibilities · Design and manufacture basic tools and fixtures, manufacture parts such as bushings and inserts and carry out machined operations on aircraft parts in accordance with Engineering data. · Competent in utilizing tool specifications, setting up and adjusting machine, selecting proper speed, machining the work piece, observing the operation, checking the accuracy with appropriate gauges, and measuring instruments. · Use all types of measuring instructions such as micrometers and dial indicators and other measuring tools. · Carry out bond tool inspection using the Romer Scan Arm and Geomagic or Spatial Analyzer Cad software. · Inspection of aircraft assembly jigs using a Leica Laser Tracker and Brunson Optical Equipment. · Comparison of aircraft components using the Romer scan arm. · Manufacturing of caul sheets, tools and shop aids. · Maintain the tooling calibration database and ensure all electronic and hardcopy data is maintained in a safe manner according to the Tooling procedure. Minimum Requirements Recognized apprenticeship / vocational Maintenance Machinist program with a minimum of five years' hands on experience in Machinist field. Experience of using a Mig welder and basic fabrication Ability to have computer soft skills such as: Microsoft Office and Internet. Monday - Friday mornings &amp; afternoons Here at Blue Arrow we are currently recruiting an Aircraft Painter to work for a company based in Blackwood Main Job roles: Figures mix ratios in order to mix sealants, filler materials, and paint. Applies primer, top coat paint, and sprayed applied coatings to aircraft parts to assure compliance. Performs straight masking operations. Performs minor filling operations related to the cosmetic appearance of the part being worked. Ability to rub down and prepare surfaces prior to application of paint Must be a team player. To support and drive projects and drive Continuous Improvement activities Flexible to business needs and a requirement to work various shift patterns as required Must be able to learn proper scope of work documentation procedures and working knowledge of parts worked within evaluation period. Responsible for the accomplishment and quality of their own work. These would be full time permanent positions. They specialize within the repair and overhaul of Commercial Aircraft Thrust Reversers and Nacelles with OEM and UKCAA and EASA approved repairs. Main job roles Perform tasks to required standards of the Maintenance Repair Overhaul and Production of aircraft components (Quality, Cost, Delivery) including compliance to regulatory requirements and standard operating procedures Able to safely perform company duties under deadlines and handle multiple priorities whilst ensuring the airworthiness of the product and accuracy of documentation and parts control To support and drive projects and drive Continuous Improvement activities Flexible to business needs and a requirement to work various shift patterns as required Ability to work as part of a team and independently Required Experience Arithmetic and English (reading, writing) skills and able to follow written instructions with precision and having a high attention to detail Preference will be given to people with previous Aerospace background or painting, bonding and mechanical assembly skills.
