Barista

If you have a good coffee and related product knowledge as well as an understanding of operating a grinder, espresso machine and milk frother then we want to hear from you. We're on the look-out for Baristas who wants to put their excellent coffee-making and customer service skills to good use on an adhoc/temporary basis for our clients based in Gateshead and Newcastle.

Pay rate - £12.75

General skills
As a Barista you will have:
* A good appreciation for coffee and specialty drinks, and understand the fundamentals of bean grinding and frothing
* Great customer service skills and knowledge
* Great communication and interpersonal skills
* Good level of literacy and numeracy
* An ability to work unsupervised and deliver quality work
* Good listening skills
* Knowledge of basic safety at work and hygiene procedures

Main Duties/Responsibilities
In your typical day as Barista you will:
* Prepare and serve hot and cold drinks such as coffee, tea and speciality beverages
* Maintain coffee grinding and brewing with equipment, accessories, and supplies
* Clean and sanitise work areas, utensils, equipment, surface and seating areas throughout the day and when closing
* Serve customers and take orders
* Describe menu items and suggest products to customers
* Receive and process customer payments
* Order, receive and distribute stock supplies
* Food preparation and service, also general management of the area
* Speak and interact with both new and regular customers
* Follow health and safety guidelines
* Adhere to recipes and presentations for food and beverage items
* Contribute to a positive team environment
* Promote coffee consumption by educating customers
