Job Description:
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Handy Person to join our team at a public site. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in maintaining the site's facilities, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for visitors and staff. This position requires a proactive individual with a broad skill set in maintenance and repair tasks.
Key Responsibilities:
- Routine Maintenance: Perform regular maintenance tasks such as plumbing repairs, electrical work, carpentry, painting, and general upkeep of the site's facilities.
- Inspections: Conduct regular inspections of the site's premises to identify potential maintenance issues and address them promptly to prevent disruptions.Event Support: Assist with the setup and breakdown of events, including the installation and dismantling of displays, ensuring all equipment and materials are handled safely and efficiently.
- Emergency Response: Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergencies, providing quick and effective solutions to minimize impact on site operations.Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities, including work performed, materials used, and any issues encountered. Ensure that maintenance logs are up-to-date and easily accessible.
- Collaboration: Work closely with other staff members, including coordinators and security personnel, to ensure the smooth operation of the site. Provide support and assistance as needed to facilitate site activities.
- Health and Safety: Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, conducting risk assessments and implementing safety measures to protect visitors and staff.
- Inventory Management: Monitor and manage maintenance supplies and equipment, ensuring that necessary materials are stocked and available for use. Coordinate with suppliers to replenish inventory as needed.
- Facility Improvements: Identify opportunities for facility improvements and propose solutions to enhance the site's environment and visitor experience.
Qualifications:
Proven experience in a similar role, preferably in a public or commercial setting.
Strong knowledge of general maintenance practices and procedures.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Good communication skills and a friendly, approachable demeanor.
