Job Title: Assembly Technician
Location: Reading
Job Type: Full-Time, Temporary (3 Month Contract)
Hours: 9am to 5pm Monday to Friday
Pay Rate: £12.80 to £14.80 per hour dependent on Experience
The Role:
In this role, you'll be at the heart of our production process, meticulously assembling complex computer systems and sub-assemblies. You'll follow engineering specifications, uphold quality standards, and meet production schedules. Your keen eye for detail and technical skills will be essential in delivering top-notch, reliable products that our customers rely on.

Key Information:
- Immediate start
- Must be available to work for the full 3-month contract Monday to Friday
- You will need to have previous experience in a similar role
Requirements:
- Perform intricate electro-mechanical assembly of computer systems,
- including but not limited to circuit boards, chassis, power supplies, and
- Interpret and follow detailed assembly instructions, engineering drawings,
- wiring diagrams, and Bill of Materials (BOMs).
- Utilise hand tools, power tools, and specialized equipment to assemble
- components accurately and efficiently.
- Solder and crimp electrical connections according to industry standards and
- best practices.
- Install and configure operating systems and basic software applications as
- Conduct in-process quality checks and inspections to identify and resolve
- any assembly defects.
- Troubleshoot basic hardware and software issues during the assembly
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to all safety regulations
- and procedures.
- Accurately document assembly processes, including any deviations or nonconformances
- using applicable ERP/MRP and JIRA applications.
- Collaborate effectively with other team members, including engineers, quality
- assurance personnel, and production colleagues.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance assembly
- processes and efficiency.
- Handle and transport sensitive electronic components with care and
- adherence to electrostatic discharge (ESD) prevention measures.
- Ensure timely completion of assigned tasks to meet production deadlines.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high cleanliness standards
- Ability to work independently and part of a team
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic
- Understanding of cleaning techniques and use of cleaning equipment
Education/Experience
- IPC-A-610 and/or J-STD-001 certification
- Experience with the assembly of ruggedized or high-reliability electronic systems
- Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and practices.
- Experience with enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems.
- Formal vocational training or certification in electronics assembly or a related
field.
