Head Chef

Blue Arrow Derby is proud to be working in partnership with an excellent manufacturing & visitor attraction client within the Staffordshire area who are looking to recruit a Head Chef on a full time, permanent basis to join their team.

Hours: 39 hours per week (8-430) - including weekends on a rota basis

Salary: Up to £30,000
What will you be doing in the Head Chef role?
* General food preparation
* Working to existing menu and creating new menu development ideas
* Assisting the Head of Retail to form new ideas, events in line with the company brand
* Line management of kitchen team
* Training and supporting kitchen team
* Preparing rotas
* Supporting on company events
* Filling away deliveries
* Washing utensils and dishes
* Great communication and teamwork skills
* Cook all food to excellent quality
* Storing and sorting ingredients properly.
* Passion for food
* Ability to work under pressure
* Ensuring food prep and kitchen areas are clean in line with health and safety and food hygiene procedures.

What will you bring to the Head Chef role?
* Previous experience as a Head Chef or similar
* Previous experience working within a café/visitor attraction/restaurant environment is highly desirable
* Food hygiene level 2 (dated within the last three years)
* Ability to provide new menu development and ideas to the company in line with their vision
* Previous management experience of kitchen staff
* Happy to clean and be involved in supporting areas as needed.
* Has excellent organisation and time-management skills
* Is able to use their own initiative and as work as part of a team
* Able to communicate/report any issues to the relevant people effectively
* Is hard-working, and reliable.
