Blue Arrow Bristol are recruiting Drivers Mates / Porters to work for one of the UK's market leading retailers to work from their depot in Avonmouth in Bristol. The roles are temp to perm - after 12 weeks you will be offered a permanent contract directly with the client. There will be plenty of career progression opportunities for candidates who might be looking to become HGV drivers or work in the transport office later in the future. Please note that all staff will have to pass a drug and alcohol test (and be happy to be re-tested occasionally) and also undergo a Disclosure Scotland (DBS) clearance. The company has a strict anti drugs and alcohol policy and conduct random drug and alcohol tests for 2-3 staff every day. The start times for the roles will be between 4am-6am and you will be completing around 50 hours per week on average. The roles are Monday to Friday only - no weekend work will be involved. The pay rate whilst you are employed by Blue Arrow will be £12.50 per hour, the starting annual salary once you get the contract will be £31,200 + quarterly bonuses. Please note that the roles are very physical and 60% of your day will be spent loading and unloading the products. You will be always working alongside a Class 2 driver. As a Drivers Mate, your duties will include:<ul><li>Supporting the driver in his role</li><li>Manual loading and unloading - all the training will be provided</li><li>Completing relevant paperwork</li><li>Using PODs</li><li>Liaising with the depot and customers over the phone and face to face</li><li>Providing excellent customer service</li></ul> Candidate requirements:<ul><li>Positive "can do" attitude</li><li>Physical fitness</li><li>Reliability and trustworthiness</li><li>Good customer service skills and willingness to represent client's values</li><li>Good level of spoken English</li></ul> All candidates will need to complete 2 days' worth of training (mainly manual handling and safe lifting practices) before starting the role.
