Project Manager£19.32 per hour Newtownards37 hours a week MAIN PURPOSETo assist the Senior Project Manager to manage and co-ordinate the regions planned maintenance programme and assist the Senior Project Manager in the strategic delivery of an effective regional based planned and cyclical maintenance programme.Key Responsibilities<ol><li>To ensure the planned maintenance service is delivered in accordance with the NIHE's policies and procedures and develop these further on an on-going basis to ensure that legislation and good practice are met.</li></ol><ol start="2"><li>To lead on project management of complex and large projects to time, quality and budget targets and with minimum supervision.</li></ol><ol start="3"><li>To brief consultants and contractors, negotiate appointments and shape the project. To be a strong professional client with clear requirements and able to lead a team to work together to achieve goals.</li></ol><ol start="4"><li>To draw up realistic timetables and ensure projects meet time targets without compromising quality.</li></ol><ol start="5"><li>To carry out feasibilities and option appraisals and maintain systems to monitor project costs. To prepare reports and spreadsheets showing how costs are apportioned.</li></ol>General <ol><li>To undertake and complete such training as required to perform the duties of the job.</li></ol><ol start="2"><li>To provide monthly reports on the progress of your programme to the Senior Project Manager against time and budget.</li></ol><ol start="3"><li>To meet with the Senior Project Manager on a regular basis to update them on the current position of the programme.</li></ol><ol start="4"><li>To ensure compliance with all human resource related policies and procedures.</li></ol>Experience and Qualifications Essential Criteria: Applicants must provide evidence by the closing date for application that they meet the following essential criteria: <ol><li>(i) A degree or equivalent Level 6* qualification in a Building/Construction related discipline PLUS 1 year's relevant experience working within a Building/Construction Function</li></ol> OR (ii) BTEC Higher or equivalent Level 5* qualification in a Building/Construction related discipline PLUS 2 years' relevant experience working within a Building/Construction function OR (iii) Can demonstrate equivalent continuing professional development/experiential learning AND at least 3 years' relevant experience working within a Building/Construction function *Refer to Qualifications Framework for equivalencies <ol start="2"><li>Can demonstrate significant experience in 3 of the following 5 areas:</li></ol> <ul><li>Effectively controlling expenditure and ensuring projects are managed in line with budget for NEC maintenance contracts (or similar construction contract, such as JCT, FIDIC, etc)</li></ul> <ul><li>Ensuring projects/works are effectively managed and delivered in line with agreed targets, standards and procedures and that stakeholders are engaged throughout</li></ul> <ul><li>Delivering against key performance indicators and contributing to performance reports</li></ul> <ul><li>The collection, analysis and reporting of performance monitoring statistics detailing performance, quality and cost data and related information if required, within construction and/or maintenance contracts</li></ul> <ul><li>The provision of technical construction related advice and guidance on maintenance contract related matters to a range of stakeholders</li></ul> <ol start="3"><li>Demonstrate an understanding of NEC 3 or NEC 4 Suite of Contract and their application in project management (To be assessed at interview)</li></ol><ol start="4"><li>Demonstrate an understanding of good governance with respect to project management (To be assessed at interview)</li></ol><ol start="5"><li>Can demonstrate (To be assessed at interview):</li></ol><ul><li>Excellent planning and organisational skills</li><li>Strong interpersonal and influencing skills</li><li>Strong customer orientation</li></ul>Candidates may also be assessed against the relevant section of the Housing Executive's Behavioural Framework.<ol start="6"><li>Candidates must possess a current driving licence or have access to a form of transport that enables them to meet the requirements of the post in full</li></ol>To apply send cv via link to Hollie closing date by 5pm on 3rd July.
