This role involves supporting the day-to-day operation, maintenance, and security of the building while ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for library users.</p><hr /><h3><strong>Pay Rate</strong></h3><ul><li><strong>£13.21 per hour</strong></li><li><strong>£20.45 per hour (Saturday rate)</strong></li></ul><hr /><h3><strong>Hours of Work</strong></h3><p>This role operates on a <strong>2-week rota</strong>, averaging <strong>25 hours per week</strong>:</p><h4><strong>Week One (25 hours)</strong></h4><ul><li>Monday: Not scheduled</li><li>Tuesday: 13:00 - 17:15</li><li>Wednesday: 13:00 - 17:15</li><li>Thursday: 14:30 - 20:15 (30-minute break)</li><li>Friday: 13:00 - 17:15</li><li>Saturday: 09:15 - 16:45 (30-minute break)</li></ul><h4><strong>Week Two (25 hours)</strong></h4><ul><li>Monday: Not scheduled</li><li>Tuesday: 12:45 - 17:15</li><li>Wednesday: 12:45 - 17:15</li><li>Thursday: 14:45 - 20:15 (30-minute break)</li><li>Friday: 12:45 - 17:15</li><li>Saturday: 09:15 - 16:45 (1-hour break)</li></ul><hr /><h2><strong>Key Duties &amp; Responsibilities</strong></h2><ul><li>Ensure the <strong>security of the premises</strong>, including opening/closing, key holding, and monitoring alarms/CCTV</li><li>Carry out <strong>cleaning and facilities duties</strong>, maintaining high standards</li><li>Operate and monitor <strong>heating, lighting, and building systems</strong></li><li>Perform <strong>minor repairs and general maintenance tasks</strong></li><li>Manage <strong>deliveries, porterage, room set-ups, and waste disposal</strong></li><li>Complete <strong>administrative duties</strong>, including record keeping and reporting faults</li><li>Support <strong>health &amp; safety compliance</strong>, including COSHH regulations</li><li>Respond to <strong>incidents and emergencies</strong> as required</li><li>Provide <strong>basic library support duties</strong>, including book care</li><li>Undertake <strong>driving duties</strong> where required</li></ul><hr /><h2><strong>Essential Criteria</strong></h2><h3><strong>Qualifications &amp; Requirements</strong></h3><ul><li>Full, valid driving licence</li></ul><h3><strong>Experience</strong></h3><ul><li>Minimum of <strong>1 year's experience</strong> in a similar role (e.g. Caretaker or Building Supervisor)</li><li>Experience of <strong>building security</strong>, including key holding duties</li></ul><h3><strong>Knowledge &amp; Skills</strong></h3><ul><li>Knowledge of cleaning methods and use of cleaning equipment</li><li>Awareness of <strong>Health &amp; Safety regulations</strong> (including COSHH/CLP)</li></ul><h3><strong>Personal Attributes</strong></h3><ul><li>Ability to work independently and as part of a team</li><li>Flexible approach to working hours and locations</li></ul><h3><strong>Other Requirements</strong></h3><ul><li>Suitable for working with <strong>children and vulnerable adults</strong> (clear record required)</li></ul></div><p> </p><p> </p><p></p>
