Tyrone (BT70 1JD)<br /> <strong>Pay Rate:</strong> £13.63 per hour<br /> <strong>Hours:</strong> 36 hours per week<br /> <strong>Contract:</strong> Temporary<br /> <strong>Sector:</strong> Public / Library Services<br /> <strong>Agency Role</strong></p><h3>About the Role</h3><p>We are currently recruiting, on behalf of Libraries NI, for a <strong>Library Assistant Driver (Homecall)</strong> to support frontline library services within the local community. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced driver with strong customer service skills to work in a meaningful public-facing role.</p><p>The successful candidate will assist in delivering library services via a <strong>Homecall and stock delivery vehicle</strong>, providing access to library materials for customers who are unable to visit branch libraries. This role specifically involves <strong>delivering books and resources to both local schools and to people's homes</strong> as part of the Homecall service.</p><h3>Key Responsibilities</h3><ul><li>Drive and operate a Homecall or stock delivery vehicle along assigned routes</li><li><strong>Deliver books and library materials to schools and directly to customers' homes</strong></li><li>Provide a reliable Homecall service for customers unable to access library buildings</li><li>Maintain vehicles and ensure compliance with all legislative and safety requirements</li><li>Complete required vehicle checks, records, and documentation</li><li>Provide friendly, professional customer service, particularly to older people and school staff</li><li>Assist at other library service points when required to meet business needs</li><li>Use ICT systems to access and manage library information</li></ul><h3>Essential Requirements</h3><p><strong>Qualifications &amp; Experience:</strong></p><ul><li>5 GCSEs (A*-C) including English and Maths (or equivalent/higher)</li><li>At least <strong>1 year's experience</strong> delivering a face-to-face service in a customer-focused environment</li><li>Demonstrable experience working with older people and/or educational settings</li><li>Minimum <strong>2 years' driving experience</strong></li></ul><p><strong>Licences &amp; Skills:</strong></p><ul><li>Full, valid UK driving licence</li><li>Knowledge of legislation relating to driving and vehicle maintenance</li><li>Confident in using ICT systems and digital tools</li></ul><p><strong>Additional Requirements:</strong></p><ul><li>Flexibility to work mornings, afternoons, evenings, and weekends</li><li>Willingness to work at different service points if required</li><li>Ability to obtain <strong>Enhanced Access NI clearance</strong></li><li>No criminal record that would prevent working with children or vulnerable adults</li></ul><h3>What's on Offer</h3><ul><li>Competitive hourly rate of <strong>£13.63</strong></li><li>Structured working hours (36 hpw)</li><li>Valuable experience within a public sector organisation</li><li>Ongoing support from a dedicated recruitment agency</li></ul><h3>How to Apply</h3><p>To apply or for further information, please submit your CV through the agency advert or contact the recruitment team directly.</p></div><p> </p>
