Location: AFBI Newforge Site Contract: Temporary, ongoing Rate: £13.75 per hourAFBI Newforge is seeking an organised and proactive Admin Officer to support the Premises Officer in the effective running of the Estates function. This role is ideal for someone with strong clerical experience, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.<div> </div><h2>Key Responsibilities</h2>The successful candidate will assist the AFBI Newforge Premises Officer with:<ul><li>Facilitation, monitoring, and management of the annual Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) schedule, including associated remedial works.</li><li>Defects reporting and reactive maintenance coordination.</li><li>Daily use of AMPS (NICS Asset Management &amp; Property Services System) to manage maintenance tasks, minor projects, and asbestos-related works.</li><li>Support with specialist laboratory gas maintenance.</li><li>Operation of the permit‑to‑work system.</li><li>Site security duties, including contractual KPI reporting and invoice processing.</li><li>Fire safety responsibilities as Deputy Fire Precautions Officer, including weekly fire alarm testing and routine fire safety checks.</li><li>Reception cover, welcoming visitors, contractors, suppliers, staff, and AFBI Board Members.</li><li>Daily handling of post, including mail and courier deliveries.</li><li>Any other duties as required by the AFBI Newforge Estate Unit Premises Officer.</li></ul><div> </div><h2>Essential Criteria</h2>Applicants must have the below clearly reflected in their cv <ul><li>2 GCSEs (Grade C or above) or equivalent, including English Language and Maths.</li><li>Experience or understanding of estate management.</li><li>At least 1 year of clerical experience.</li><li>Effective communication skills, particularly for reception duties, visitor interaction, and tannoy announcements.</li><li>Competence in Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel (for invoice processing, record management, and email correspondence).</li><li>Ability to work as part of a team.</li><li>Ability to work on their own initiative.</li></ul>
