This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced administrator with strong organisational and IT skills who is interested in supporting the delivery of arts funding and development work.</p><hr /><h2>🎨 <strong>About the Role</strong></h2><p>The Assistant Arts Development Officer will play a key role in <strong>implementing grant payment and monitoring processes</strong>, while providing high‑quality administrative and secretarial support across the organisation.</p><hr /><h2>📌 <strong>Key Responsibilities</strong></h2><p>The post holder will work flexibly and may be required to carry out a range of duties, including:</p><ul><li>Providing administrative support and backup as required</li><li>Preparing reports, briefing papers and documentation</li><li>Drafting correspondence independently or under direction</li><li>Maintaining filing systems and databases</li><li>Recording, distributing, and managing incoming mail and documents</li><li>Handling telephone calls, redirecting where necessary and responding to queries</li><li>Preparing agendas, minutes and paperwork for meetings</li><li>Arranging and setting up meetings</li><li>Attending meetings within the organisation</li><li>Providing cover for colleagues during periods of absence</li><li>Supporting statutory compliance processes</li><li>Undertaking any additional duties appropriate to the grade</li></ul><hr /><h2>✅ <strong>Essential Criteria</strong></h2><h3><strong>1. Education</strong></h3><ul><li>A good standard of education to at least <strong>A‑Level or equivalent</strong>, <strong>plus</strong> GCSE English Language and Maths (Grades A-C or equivalent)</li></ul><h3><strong>2. Administrative Experience</strong></h3><ul><li><strong>At least 2 years' experience (within the last 4 years)</strong> in a role involving:<ul><li>General administration</li><li>Administration of projects, schemes, or initiatives</li><li>Verification of data input</li><li>Maintenance of manual and computerised record systems</li></ul></li></ul><h3><strong>3. Secretarial Support</strong></h3><ul><li>Experience providing <strong>complex secretarial support</strong>, including:<ul><li>Preparing correspondence, reports and minutes</li><li>Confident telephone handling</li></ul></li></ul><h3><strong>4. IT Skills</strong></h3><ul><li>Strong working knowledge of <strong>MS Office and Excel</strong>, with experience using email and internet systems</li><li>Experience with MS Access is desirable but not essential</li></ul></div><p> </p>
