Verification Officer

Belfast

£12.31 per hour

Monday to Friday, 9-5pm

Post until end of March 2026

JOB SUMMARY


The post will require a person who is highly motivated, is methodical and organised and who can offer the highest standards of accuracy, integrity and confidentiality. The post holder will be important member of the team responsible for the verification of claims made by patients to entitlement to access health care in Northern Ireland.
Using the Verification Case Management Computer System, the post holder will undertake verification work to ensure the validity of patient claims to access public funded health care in Northern Ireland.

KEY DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Action, as appropriate, all elements of the entitlement verification process: e.g.
a. Issue of initial query letters to patients
b. Enter on to case management system details of all
correspondence and documentation received from patients;
c. Undertake assessment of entitlement based on information received
d. Issue of reminder letters, entitled and not entitled letters as
appropriate, to patients.

Verify the accuracy of all output from the Case Management System, including letters to patients.
3 Deal directly with queries from patients, either by phone or in person.
4 Participate in daily post opening procedures, in line with existing policies and procedures

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA

1a. Five GCSE's (including GCSE English Language and GCSE Maths (Grades A* - C) OR equivalent qualification to demonstrate literacy and numeracy OR Higher Qualification
OR
1b. 18 Months relevant experience
AND
2. 1 years' experience working with Microsoft Office or similar.
