<h3>Industrial 2 - Plant Testing</h3>Location: AFBI Crossnacreevy Research Farm Rate of Pay: £12.97 per hourEligibility Criteria:<ul><li>2 GCSEs including English Language and Maths (Grades A*-C) or equivalent or higher</li><li>Minimum of 6 months demonstrable relevant experience</li><li>Full UK Driving Licence</li></ul>Role Overview: You will work on the AFBI Crossnacreevy research farm, which specialises in trials of wheat, barley, oats, and grasses.Key Responsibilities:<ul><li><ul><li>Sowing cereal and grass plots</li><li>Preparing ground for sowing (ploughing, power harrowing, rolling)</li><li>Spraying of plots, burn lines and interrow spraying</li><li>Hedge cutting in field and onsite</li><li>General yard maintenance (power washing, edging grass, strimming, tidying sheds)</li><li>General machinery maintenance (servicing, changing wearing metal, greasing, preparation for winter housing)</li><li>Cutting surrounds/pathway grass with industrial mower/flail mower</li><li>Working with scientific teams on various projects to complete essential research work</li><li>This list is not exhaustive and can be added to during the role</li><li>During busy periods staff may be required to stay late to complete project work</li></ul></li></ul>Essential Experience:<ul><li>Some experience in ploughing, spraying, sowing, and combining preferred</li><li>PA1 and PA2a certification highly desirable</li></ul>Other Desirable Skills:<ul><li>Experience operating a range of farm machinery</li><li>Knowledge of crop husbandry in an agricultural setting</li><li>Willingness to learn new skills</li><li>Attention to detail and adaptability</li></ul>
