<p></p><div><h1><strong>Finance Officer - Higher Level (Band 4)</strong></h1><p><strong>Location:</strong> Ballymena<br /> <strong>Rate of Pay:</strong> £13.57 per hour<br /> <strong>Hours:</strong> 37.5 per week, Monday to Friday<br /> <strong>Contract:</strong> Immediate start, temporary position<br /> <strong>Working Model:</strong> Potential for hybrid working following induction</p><hr /><h2><strong>Role Overview</strong></h2><p>A Finance Officer (Higher Level) is required to support the full range of financial management activities within a busy operational finance environment. The successful candidate will assist in delivering accurate financial reporting, maintaining effective budgetary controls, and providing support and guidance to budget managers.</p><hr /><h2><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong></h2><ul><li>Assist with the development and maintenance of effective budgetary control systems.</li><li>Prepare and input approved changes to financial systems.</li><li>Support the production of financial management reports, including investigation of variances.</li><li>Create and maintain budget reporting structures for managers.</li><li>Provide management information, advice, and training to budget holders and participate in financial review meetings.</li><li>Carry out variance analysis and ad hoc investigations as requested.</li><li>Complete payroll and non‑pay expenditure adjustments.</li><li>Assist with identification of funding relating to vacancies and organisational changes, including preparing staffing establishments.</li><li>Perform other duties appropriate to the band as required.</li></ul><hr /><h2><strong>General Responsibilities</strong></h2><ul><li>Provide a professional, courteous service and maintain high standards at all times.</li><li>Demonstrate teamwork, openness, transparency, and a commitment to service quality.</li><li>Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and infection control procedures.</li><li>Maintain high levels of accuracy and complete tasks efficiently.</li><li>Adhere to organisational policies, codes of conduct, and equal opportunities principles.</li><li>Support service improvement and uphold public confidence in service delivery.</li></ul><hr /><h2><strong>Essential Criteria</strong></h2><h3><strong>Qualifications and Experience</strong></h3><p>Applicants must meet one of the following:</p><ul><li>Three years' relevant finance experience; or</li><li>Certificate for Accounting Technicians (ATI) or equivalent (QCF Level 4) plus two years' relevant finance experience.</li></ul><h3><strong>Other Requirements</strong></h3><ul><li>Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle (reasonable adjustments considered).</li></ul><h3><strong>Skills and Abilities</strong></h3><ul><li>Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel.</li><li>Ability to prioritise work and meet deadlines.</li><li>Ability to analyse financial information and communicate findings clearly.</li></ul></div><p> </p><p>RecCoLisburn</p>
