Professional Support Officer

22.5 hours a week

£13.57 per hour

JOB SUMMARY

The Professional Support and Wellbeing team is responsible for the provision of a support service to resident doctors and dentists including one to one support, mentoring, coaching and career development. They are also responsible for the pre-employment processes for resident doctors and dentists entering training programmes in Northern Ireland. This includes the management of the sponsorship on Skilled Worker Visas.

The post-holder will carry out duties in relation to the sponsorship of resident doctors and dentists under the Points Based Immigration system whilst adhering to UKVI rules and best practice principles

KEY DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. To provide professional guidance to Resident Doctors and Dentists, managers and Trust Medical HR teams in relation to sponsorship under the Skilled Worker route of the UKVI Points Based System.
  1. To ensure that applications for Certificates of Sponsorship are processed in compliance with UKVI rules and within the Key Performance Indicator.
  1. To monitor the progress of residents' visa applications, to advise Trust medical HR and NIMDTA training/employment departments in regard to anticipated start dates.
  1. To co-ordinate immigration status checks for relevant residents sponsored under the Skilled Worker route, through the UKVI Employers Checking Service to ensure that Positive Verification Notices are in place as applicable.
  1. To co-ordinate right to work checks to ensure that all required information is collated, documents are verified and Trust medical HR/training & employment departments are updated in regard to right to work status.
  1. To ensure that the UKVI Sponsorship Management System is updated in regard to delayed start dates, changes to salary/hours of work, postings, withdrawn sponsorship, etc.

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA

GCSE Maths and GCSE English (A-C) OR equivalent qualification to demonstrate literacy and numeracy OR higher qualification

AND

2 A Levels OR equivalent OR higher qualification

AND

18 months relevant* experience to include at least one year's experience in a Human Resources environment

OR

Have a minimum of three years' relevant* experience to include at least one year's experience in a Human Resources environment

* Relevant experience is defined as working in an office environment carrying out administrative duties such as preparing letters/correspondence, maintaining systems/databases, providing admin support for meetings/committees, communicating with stakeholders
