This role involves delivering high‑quality customer services, managing staff, and ensuring the smooth running of the library premises in line with current policies and procedures.</p><hr /><h2><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong></h2><h3><strong>Core Library Services</strong></h3><ul><li>Ensure all library services are delivered to consistently high standards</li><li>Comply with current library policies, procedures, and service expectations</li><li>Promote and support front‑line customer services to a diverse range of users</li></ul><h3><strong>Staff Management</strong></h3><ul><li>Manage, supervise, and appraise <strong>Senior Library Assistants, Library Assistants, and ancillary staff</strong></li><li>Support staff development and effective teamwork within the branch</li></ul><h3><strong>Premises &amp; Administration</strong></h3><ul><li>Oversee the routine maintenance of library premises</li><li>Maintain required records, files, and administrative systems</li><li>Escalate operational issues that cannot be resolved locally to the appropriate officer</li></ul><hr /><h2><strong>Essential Criteria</strong></h2><p>Applicants must meet <strong>one</strong> of the following:</p><ul><li><strong>A minimum of two GCE A‑Levels (or equivalent or higher qualification)</strong><br /> <strong>PLUS</strong><br /> <strong>At least two years' experience</strong> working with the public in a <strong>customer‑focused environment</strong> within the last <strong>five years</strong></li></ul><p><strong>OR</strong></p><ul><li><strong>At least three years' experience</strong> working with the public in a <strong>customer‑focused environment</strong> within the last <strong>six years</strong></li></ul><p>In addition, applicants must demonstrate:</p><ul><li>Experience contributing to the <strong>promotion and delivery of front‑line customer services</strong></li><li>Experience using <strong>ICT systems/applications</strong> in a work environment</li><li>Experience of working in <strong>partnership or collaboration</strong> with internal and/or external customers</li><li>Experience of working effectively within a <strong>team environment</strong> to meet organisational objectives</li></ul><hr /><h2><strong>Desirable Criteria</strong></h2><ul><li>Experience of <strong>managing staff</strong></li><li>Experience working in a <strong>public, academic, or specialist library</strong></li></ul><hr /><h2><strong>Pre‑Employment Requirement</strong></h2><p>✅ <strong>Candidates must hold a valid Enhanced Access NI Disclosure</strong></p><hr /><h2><strong>Working Pattern (Rota)</strong></h2><p>This role operates on a <strong>two‑week rotating rota</strong>, including Saturdays.</p><h3><strong>Week 1</strong></h3><ul><li><strong>Monday:</strong> 09:15 - 17:00 (30‑minute break)</li><li><strong>Tuesday:</strong> 12:15 - 20:00 (45‑minute break)</li><li><strong>Wednesday:</strong> 09:15 - 17:00 (30‑minute break)</li><li><strong>Thursday:</strong> 09:15 - 17:00 (30‑minute break)</li><li><strong>Friday:</strong> 09:15 - 17:00 (30‑minute break)</li></ul><h3><strong>Week 2</strong></h3><ul><li><strong>Monday:</strong> 09:15 - 17:00 (30‑minute break)</li><li><strong>Tuesday:</strong> 12:15 - 20:00 (45‑minute break)</li><li><strong>Wednesday:</strong> 09:15 - 17:00 (30‑minute break)</li><li><strong>Thursday:</strong> <strong>Rest Day</strong></li><li><strong>Friday:</strong> 09:15 - 17:00 (30‑minute break)</li><li><strong>Saturday:</strong> 09:15 - 17:00 (30‑minute break) <em>(Saturday rate applies)</em></li></ul></div><p> </p>
