<p></p><div><h3><strong>Waste Operations Supervisor</strong></h3><p><strong>Location:</strong> Carrickfergus<br /> <strong>Hours:</strong> 37 hours per week (flexibility required for weekends, evenings, and public holidays)<br /> <strong>Contract:</strong> Immediate start, 6-month initial contract<br /> <strong>Pay Rate:</strong> £20.66 per hour</p><hr /><h4><strong>Role Overview</strong></h4><p>We are seeking a highly motivated <strong>Waste Operations Supervisor</strong> to oversee the day-to-day delivery of waste and cleansing services. This includes refuse collection, commercial waste, kerbside recycling, street cleansing, bulky collections, deliveries, public conveniences, and other cleaning operations.</p><hr /><h4><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong></h4><ul><li>Manage daily operational delivery of waste and cleansing services.</li><li>Schedule workloads, allocate tasks, monitor progress, and report on efficiencies.</li><li>Ensure compliance with statutory and legislative requirements, promoting safety and good governance.</li><li>Support technical development of Waste Services, including fleet management and recycling initiatives.</li><li>Liaise with Transport Management to maintain vehicles and plant.</li><li>Organize staff training for vehicles, plant, and equipment; identify training needs.</li><li>Handle cash for collected monies as required.</li><li>Prepare reports for the Operations Manager and assist in service delivery improvements.</li><li>Develop risk assessments, Safe Systems of Work, and investigate incidents where necessary.</li><li>Deliver Toolbox Talks and ensure staff understanding and compliance.</li></ul><hr /><h4><strong>Essential Criteria</strong></h4><p>Applicants must clearly demonstrate the following on their CV:</p><ul><li><strong>Qualifications:</strong> Degree level in a relevant discipline (e.g., Management Practice or Environmental Service).</li><li><strong>Experience:</strong><ul><li>Two years' experience managing an operational service delivering successful outcomes (or four years if no degree).</li><li>At least one year (or four years if no degree) in:<ul><li>Operational supervision in a waste environment.</li><li>Successful supervision of operational staff.</li><li>Achieving improvements in a functional area.</li></ul></li></ul></li><li>Understanding of key issues impacting waste service delivery.</li><li>Knowledge of local government operations and political context.</li><li>Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.</li></ul><p><strong>RecCoLisburn</strong></p></div><p> </p>
