Cyber Security Manager

Belfast

£22.65 per hour

37 hours a week

MAIN PURPOSE

To be involved in all aspects of Cyber Security within the Housing Executive. They will work closely with the IT Operations Manager, the wider IT department and will be instrumental in shaping plans for continuously developing the maturity and effectiveness of operational Cyber Security capabilities and practices.

This is an interlock role within a niche team, working across multiple teams to ensure the right interventions are being put in place, at the right pace and at the right time. To play a key role in shaping and implementing best practices in security architecture, governance, risk management, and compliance while supporting IT teams in embedding security into all aspects of their work.

Key Responsibilities

  1. To be responsible for overseeing cyber security operations within the Housing Executive.

  1. To ensure that cyber security processes and policies are well defined, implemented and operated across the organisation.

  1. To develop and Implement Security Policies and to establish and enforce policies and procedures to protect the organisation's digital assets and systems.

  1. To manage the Housing Executive's cyber security strategy, risk assessments and security roadmap.

To identify, assess, and mitigate cyber security risks as required, ensuring alignment with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards

Essential

Applicants must provide evidence by the closing date for application that they meet the following essential criteria:

  1. Clearly demonstrate at least 3 years' relevant experience within the last 5 years working in a Cyber Security Management role within a large organisation.

Or

Can demonstrate that you have relevant experience in at least 4 out of the 5 areas listed below -

  1. Demonstrate how you have played a critical role in shaping and implementing best practices in cyber security architecture, governance, risk management, and compliance, while supporting IT teams in embedding security into all aspects of their work.
  2. Demonstrate how you have provided strategic security direction and hands-on guidance to ensure robust cyber security management, processes & practices are in place.
  • Demonstrate experience in managing the cybersecurity strategy, risk assessments and security roadmap.
  1. Demonstrate how you have contributed to the success of the Cyber division as part of a leadership team
  2. Demonstrate your experience in: -

  • Incident response / recovery plans
  • Delivery of cyber security improvement programmes
  • Development and maintenance of internal cyber security policies and procedures
  • Providing regular reporting on incidents, risks, and compliance status

  1. Can demonstrate a deep understanding of Cyber Security, detailing your current responsibilities, skills & experience.

  1. Can demonstrate: (to be assessed at Assessment/Interview)

  • Can demonstrate in-depth understanding of UK Government security / international standards such as GovAssure, NCSC, ISO27001, Cloud Security Principles, Cyber Essentials etc.

  1. Can demonstrate: (to be assessed at Assessment/Interview)
  • Effective oral and written communication skills (ability to explain technical issues to non-technical stakeholders)
  • Good stakeholder management skills across various business units to ensure a joined-up approach to the maintenance and improvement of cyber security.
  • Strong technical, analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Willingness to Learn: A proactive approach to learning and a keen interest in staying up-to-date with the latest cyber security developments.
  • Ability to manage own time and work accurately under pressure to meet deadlines.

  1. Possess a current driving licence or have access to a form of transport that will permit the candidate to meet the requirements of the post in full.
